Lutetium

Description: Lutetium is found in trace amounts in nearly all minerals. It is present in monazite to a concentration of about 0.003%, which is a commercial source. The metal has a silvery white appearance and is relatively stable in air.

Source: Lutetium can be produced by reacting anhydrous LuCl3 or LuF3 with an alkali or alkaline earth metal.
