* If your project necessitates more diminutive dimensions, explore our range of Tantalum Capillary available at your convenience.

Tantalum boasts an extreme level of inertness, making it a prime material for crafting a variety of parts that resist corrosion. Capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1500 degrees Celsius, tantalum tubes present a resilient option for diverse applications. We offer these in various specifications, maintaining stringent tolerances for utmost precision. Additionally, we feature Tantalum Capillary, available to cater to your specific requirements and preferences.

Tantalum tubes can be crafted into both welded and seamless tubes, catering to different specific needs.

Seamless Tantalum Tube

If your application demands tubes with thicker walls, which can withstand higher pressure and stress, we recommend our seamless tantalum tubes. Crafted meticulously using methods such as extrusion, tube reduction or deep drawing from sheet metal, these tubes offer robustness and durability.

Welded Tantalum Tube

On the other hand, if your application necessitates tubes with thinner walls, favoring flexibility and easier manipulation, our welded tantalum tubes would be the ideal choice. These tubes are fashioned from tantalum plates, initially shaped into a strip, and then formed into a tube, with the seams being secured through gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). Despite being thin-walled, they retain a smooth surface, thanks to a polishing process post-welding, guaranteeing both aesthetics and quality.

Creating the finest quality tantalum tubes and pipes involves a series of meticulous processes to ensure each product meets the highest standards of quality and purity. Here is a detailed workflow at EPI Materials:

  • Material Selection

Our process begins with the selection of high-grade tantalum, boasting a purity level of 99.95%. This raw material forms the foundation for our exceptional final products.

  • Pre-Processing

Raw tantalum is processed into a workable form. Depending on the type of tube being made, it might be shaped into sheets (for welded tubes) or billets (for seamless tubes).

  • Tube Formation

For Seamless Tubes:

    • Extrusion: The tantalum billet is heated and pressed through a die to create a seamless tube.
    • Tube Reduction: This method involves reducing the diameter of the tube progressively to attain the desired thickness and diameter.

For Welded Tubes:

    • Forming: Tantalum sheets are formed into a tube shape, with the edges prepared for welding.
    • Welding: The seams of the tube are welded using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) to secure its structure.
  • Post-Formation Processing

Once the basic tube shape is achieved, further processing is carried out to refine the product. This includes:

    • Polishing: Especially for welded tubes, to attain a smooth surface post-welding.
    • Heat Treatment: This step helps in enhancing the tube’s mechanical properties.
    • Quality Control: Each tube undergoes rigorous quality checks to ensure they meet the necessary standards and specifications.
  • Cutting and Sizing

The tubes are cut into specified lengths, based on customer requirements. This step ensures the products are ready for use in various applications.

  • Packaging and Dispatch

The final step involves packaging the products securely for transportation, ensuring they reach our clients in pristine condition.

At EPI Materials, we take pride in our state-of-the-art production process, which guarantees premium quality with every order. Your trust fuels our commitment to delivering excellence consistently.
